Community Involvement

Sandy is passionate about giving back to others and bringing organizations together so they can work together to better their communities. She serves on several boards and work groups in the greater- Madison area. Sandy is especially interested in working in the intersections of diversity, where race, gender and sexual orientation come together. She believes the way to heal our communities and our world is to work together and to focus on our similarities and join forces to have a greater impact.
Sandy is very involved in her community and is activitly participating in non-profit work. She is on the board of O.P.E.N. (Out Professional Engagement Network), C.A.S.A.(Court Appointed Special Advocates), MadREP (Madison Regional Economic Partnership) and has been a speaker for the Rape Crisis Center, Step Up-Equity Matters, American Family Dreambank and Brava Magazine's Thrive Workshop series. Through donations and fundraising, Sandy also supports GSAFE, Special Olympics, StageQ, Tenant Resource Center, Boys and Girls Club of Dane County, and Mentoring Positives. She is a member of the Empowerment Society of the YWCA, a group of sustaining donors that supports women and children in crisis. Sandy was named a Woman to Watch in 2015 by Brava Magazine for her work in diversity and inclusion and community organizations.
